Default BATSON RCJB84XH vs BLUEFIN TUNA

I'm dead tired, my muscles hurt and I can barely bend over to tie my shoes....

Buko, Dave and myself headed up to Plymouth, Massachussetts for a 3 day Tuna binge. We saw lots of tuna on monday and tuesday, but no hookups. The fish were fast and very finicky. This morning, we arrived at stellwagen and were greeted with several whales and a lit up sonar. The finder was loaded but no fish were busting,I decided to take a blind cast... started walking the dog with a tattoo sea pup and got slammed hard! Smoking 150 yard run came next. I worked the fish vertical and had it pinned at 50 ft below the boat.

After 15 minutes I passed the rod off to my buddy, we beat the fish up(and got beat up) 5 minutes each until we hit the 30 minute mark. The last ten minutes I cupped the spool and gave it all I had. The 7' jigging blank turned popping rod, that Taz just built me got a sick workout on my first spinning rod bluefin. I had my buddy dump a bottle of water over my head because I was starting to overheat! I've got them on 130's before, but that is peanuts compared to this stuff!!!!!!!!!! We lip gaffed the fish and did a quick measure. she maxed out the 60" tape with 12-14" left. the tape stopped at the gillplate. Mabye a giant, but we'll never know. swam her for 10 minutes and she colored back up and kicked away and left us shaking.... What a day. saw a few more in CC bay later on but no real shots at getting them.

Great pics! Big fish!! That qualifies for the next round of "Get Bent"!! I wish our water looked like that, and I can't remember the last time I fished in a T-shirt.
